Wait Chapel is the largest non-athletic indoor setting on the Reynolda Campus with a seating capacity of 2,250.  The Chapel space is home to The Williams Organ, a four-manual Möller instrument with a Schantz console controlling over 4,600 pipes.  The building also holds the Harris Carillon, a classically-controlled grand carillon of 48 cast bronze bells weighing 12 tons.

Location and Directions

On the campus map, Wait Chapel is building 1.  The main entrance faces South toward Hearn plaza, or the “quad.”  To reach the main entrance from Parking Lot Q, take the steps on either side of the building through the covered walk and out onto the plaza.  Wait Chapel is connected to Wingate Hall, though seating is not accessible through Wingate hall on performance nights.

Parking

Official parking for Wait Chapel events is located in Lot Q.  To access the chapel from the parking lot, take the stairs or ramp from the lot towards the chapel and main road.  A designated cross walk is at the top of the stairs.  Proceed along the sidewalk along the side of the chapel, and up another set of stairs to Hearn Plaza.  The entrance to the chapel is accessible from the plaza.

For clarification, please see the parking map.

Wheelchair Accessibility

Wait Chapel is wheelchair accessible and has designated wheelchair seating areas throughout the hall.  A ramp from the main parking lot, Lot Q, is located next to the stairs.  The wheelchair entrance to the chapel is located on the left side of the building (when facing the chapel from behind).  Take the sidewalk to the left from the parking lot ramp, take a right after Davis Chapel and another ramp into the chapel with a wheelchair lift will be in sight.

Additional ADA parking can be found in Lots A, B, N & P.
